Flat Creek Crossing Ranch

Untitled

We were invited to Flat Creek Crossing Ranch in Johnson City, TX to celebrate a birthday and to enjoy the outdoors. This would be our very first family camping trip with Finn and our little teepee pop up camper thang, haha!

When the boys went riding, the girls (& dogs) would go explore the trails. It was an amazing trip even though it was SO cold. We wanted to be close to our friends who would be sleeping in tents so we didn't park next to electricity or water connections. January in Texas does get cold. Pretty damn cold. We wore multiple layers and made fires when it was possible.

The hiking wasn't brutal like I thought it would be. I mean, I don't work out and I only run when food is involved. So hiking the 13 miles that Ana (my favorite camping buddy) her two dogs, Finn and I pulled off was pretty fantastical! It was a bit challenging when we realized we were lost, haha, but we overcame and made it out like champs! Thankfully, none of the guys were hurt on their riding adventures.

My brother-in-law Allen joined us on our adventure as well. It's been a while since we've seen him as he lives in Australia. Hearing his stories and eating his food was the best! Allen is fantastical in the kitchen. His breakfast tacos are heaven!! The stories freaked us out a little. Like how it's not easy to get certain foods there like avocados. I can't live without avocados. They are everything! Haha!

Shout out to Mama Carrizo for lending us her Pathfinder who I've named Big Carrizo, haha! It was a very comfy 4-hour drive with the Reed squad and we're incredibly grateful! Check out the pictures below and for more visit me on Flickr. If you click any image it'll take you straight there. The resolution there is excellent!!
