Disclosure: This is a sponsored post in collaboration with VLPresents.
All opinions are my own.

I first met Vera Loo in February of this year at a Super Bowl Pop Up Market she was a vendor in. We chatted a bit about her business known then as Vera Loo and how she was in the beauty industry hustling her very unique bath bombs. She told me she initially created this business back in October of 2016 primarily for folks suffering from mental illness after she suffered through her own battle with depression. After finding out the benefits of self-care in the presence of mental illness as well as some battles she was going through with eczema and acne, she decided to start this line for those who were like her but were afraid of being rejected or humiliated. Her first line of bath bombs named Eve along with a mini commercial she made was a hit in her community on and offline so she kept going!

Weekend Snapshots | 24

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by a book I picked up this weekend and Sawyer Moo's nose. Believe it or not, the kid was snoring. He does that a lot! My husband was working on some things in his office and we were sitting on the couch accompanying him!

Now, you know I love Amazon and I rarely buy elsewhere. I mean, I'm the one who always says, "I bet you can find that cheaper on Amazon." Or "Check out the reviews on Amazon!" It's my go-to online shopping place and I support their take over of our planet! But sometimes you don't want to wait. Especially with a book. And yes, I know I could have purchased the Kindle version but it's not the same! I tell you more about this book below.

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by Sawyer Moo's happy face! We went on an adventure Saturday to the Cypress Creek Trails. The folks were having a work party and Moo had to go check it all out. One of the things I love about the Moo is how happy he is and how sweet he is to all the new folks he meets. Most folks sort of know about him since he's oh, so popular on Instagram (or so he thinks) haha! so he gets lots of loving from strangers!

Check out our adventure and some of the other things we did this weekend like figure out what air mattress we needed for our big family vacation next week! More on that later!

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by HALLOWEEN! Okay, not really, but how funny are these Halloween goodies? Mama Carrizo and I visited Kirkland's this weekend where we saw a ton of Fall and Halloween stuff. We didn't buy any Halloween goodies but I have a strong feeling we'll be back for them πŸ˜„

Photo Fun On-The-Go!

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I'm sharing it
because I love this little gadget!

Photo printers on-the-go are all the rave these days. There are a few brands out there that have their own photo printer with decent prices that you can buy to take with you on your fun adventures. After researching some of the different brands that have photo printers, I chose the HP Sprocket Photo Printer (affiliate). I liked how small and compact it was compared to the others (2.95"x4.53"). Plus, HP has always been good to me so I figured why not.

Little Craft Place | The Goodies!!!

Today's post is about the goodies I purchased at the Little Craft Place last week. If you haven't already seen it, click here to see my post with alllll the pictures!! It's a paper lovers dream and it's so close to my casa!

Let's start with the washi tape. I love washi tape. It can be used in so many different ways and not just on paper but folks are using them on their computer keyboards, the inside of a lampshade, decoration on the wall, and even on their bikes. Some folks have killer collections of washi tape, like drawers and boxes full of them. Places like the Little Craft Place have a wall dedicated to washi tape. Honestly, I don't know how many places have a wall like they do but I did a little happy dance when I saw it. There may have been a few tears, too. Haha! As much as I love washi tape, I don't use it as much as I'd like. #dontjudgeme So it sits all pretty-like on my desk until I think I've found the right time to use it πŸ˜‚ which half the time ends up with me saying no don't use it or it'll run out. This is how a lot of paper heads end up with tons of supplies, haha!

Check out this video Bre took for the Paper Files Instagram page.

At @littlecraftplace because why not. #washitape #washi #paperjunkies #paperfiles

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by my very happy kid, Finn, hanging out in the water. It was ridiculously hot so I can't blame the kid but I do think it had a lot to do with him getting in there in the first place. Not that the water was cool in any way because it wasn't but he seemed to enjoy his little swims.

This is Flat Creek Crossing Ranch. We visited back in January where we froze our butts off so this was the complete opposite of that trip. The plan was to camp out Saturday night and come back Sunday but that heat was TOO much.

Read more about the adventure here and visit Flickr for the rest of the pictures.

Flat Creek - July Visit

The plan was to camp out Saturday night at Flat Creek Crossing Ranch and head home Sunday evening. If you don't remember, we visited Flat Creek back in January and really froze our butts off. It was so freaking cold that we wanted to hike and be active just to keep warm and sweat a little. Click here for more on January's adventure to Flat Creek.

We woke up at 4:30AM Saturday to get on the road early. It was somewhat of an exhausting trip there, after all, it's about 3 1/2 hours. The boys slept most of the trip with Sawyer escaping to the back of the truck to cuddle with his dad's bike. Weird kid. We stopped to get groceries and while the husband went inside HEB, I hung out with the kids. There's a b&w shot below of the two boys that warms the hizzie out of my heart.

See my concern since Sawyer arrived is that he wouldn't get along with Finn. Mostly because Finn has been the spoiled baby for the last three years. There was a moment on the way to Flat Creek that Sawyer touched Finn and Finn freaked out. You know, the whole "MA, HE'S TOUCHING ME!" bit. It was pretty amusing to us but we had to check Finn and let him know he had to be nice.

We arrived early and waited for the rest of our squad to show up. While the boys rode off on their bikes, Ana and I drove down to the swimming area where we had been in January. I haven't had to deal with two dogs on separate leashes in forever so it was a bit of a pain for me. Ana suggested I let Finn off the leash because I needed to trust him. I can't tell you how fast my heart was beating when I did it but she was right. Finn and I needed to trust each other. Plus, she promised she'd run after him if he burned off, haha! After a few trips up and down to the car with Sawyer on the leash.. I thought I should trust him, too, so I let him off the leash, too.

By the time the guys met up with us a few hours later, both of my boys were having fun off the leash and still obeying commands. Probably one of my proudest mama moments! Husband was excited and proud, too!

We frolicked in the water and went exploring to find cooler water. It's been so, so dry in the area that the water levels are super low with nowhere to go. We found a small spring and soaked up the cool water but it wasn't enough to hang out in as a group so we headed back. We pulled out the BBQ pit and cooked some fajitas up and warmed some tortillas. Lunch was served and it was tasty!

I can't stress how hot it was. We were all sweating and smelling funky but we were having a great time in great company! After talking about the heat and how we were all so exhausted, husband and I decided we wouldn't put ourselves through a hot night and drove home.

The drive home was tough for all of us. It was my turn to drive so the boys all slept. Sawyer moved from the back of the car to the front many times. He'd never been on a road trip let alone an exhausting one like this, haha!

The last two shots are of the boys sleeping it up on Sunday at home. That was basically all we did Sunday. Recovering was our major priority, haha!

Little Craft Place, a sweet paper store!

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I'm sharing it
because I'm all about showing love to small businesses and because PAPER!!!

Today's post is brought to you by my Saturday visit to the Little Craft Place on the northwest side of Houston. I first heard about this store in the Houston Planner Peeps group on Facebook. I added the store and the address to my Wunderlist for future reference. In case you were wondering, I have lists for paper stores, TV shows I want to watch, and more importantly.. restaurants I must visit! 😁

So the lovely folks at HPP mentioned the Little Craft Place a few times and the pictures of the goodies always had me in awe. I mean, their famous washi tape wall is beautiful in the picture and so breathtaking in person. Okay, so I might be exaggerating but I really was mesmerized by it when I first saw it. It's not the only washi in the building either. I've never seen so much washi tape in one place so definitely prepare yourself and maybe call your bank and tell them to set you up with a limit cause you might go overboard, haha!

Before we get into the pictures and more about the goodies they sell, let me tell you a bit about the owners. From their About Us section on their website-

We started our business as making cards and custom stamps 7 years ago in a small room. As our home business grew, we expanded by adding other scrapbooking products as well. After a few years selling on Etsy, we launched our own online store to better serve our customers as well as our brick & mortar store Little Craft Place. I (Eunice) graduated in Australia with a Degree in Graphic Design and Ian has a Degree in IT from The University of Arizona. I worked for a few advertising agencies before we started our little online store. We are constantly thinking of what's next. It’s all about ideas, creating new designs, improvements, daydreams, surprises & creativity.

I had the chance of meeting Ian and had a few good laughs with him. I arrived a little after 1:30 and the icebreaker for us was the weather. I got out of my car and walked in the store and had to wipe my forehead from the sweat when I walked. It wasn't a very far walk, y'all, it was just that hot. I told Ian it was my first visit and that the HPP folks had told me about his store. He told me a little about himself and his wife, the dream, and we talked about the washi tape wall. He was extremely knowledgeable on all the goodies and even had tips on how to pair things. I told him I did some scrapbooking, even though I'm majorly slacking, and that all the rave these days was planners and such. He showed me the planner section and told me about the huge sale.

I won't tell you how much I spent because my husband might kill me BUT I got some sweet goodies. I took lots of pictures but I was too excitamated and some pictures came out bad so I didn't add them, haha! Some are from my Instagram stories, too. My pictures really do this cute store no justice. I'll share the goodies I bought on another post so this one isn't too long... I mean, it's pretty long already, haha!

True paper lovers will travel the distance so if you're in the area,
stop by and say hello to Ian and Eunice!

The Little Craft Place is located on
11911 Jones Rd. Houston, TX 77070.
They sell tons of goodies at their store and also online.

Shankasaurus, the bag lady!

Today's post is brought to you by pens and shit. Well, the bags that hold the pens and shit. Mama Carrizo has been a bag lady ever since I can remember. It was always bags, papers, and pens/markers with her. Maybe that's why I have a little (read: big) obsession with all of those things. Speaking of, have you followed Paper Files on Instagram yet? It's a stationary obsession account that Bre and I started back in June after our Bujo class at Brazo's Bookstore. Go give us a follow! Giveaway when we reach 200!!

Back to the bags- So bag lady has a number of definitions. It can be a female who has a lot of emotional baggage or even a lady who is homeless. But for this posts sake, we're referring to a bag lady as just that. A lady with a ton of bags.

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by Sawyer's cute little nose on me. Husband and I have been playing this game called Killing Floor 2. It's zombie killin' at a fast pace. It was free for PS Plus users last month, I think. One of the husband's friends told him about it so we both downloaded it. It's consumed our evenings and it is the reason why I'm going to bed so late. Anyways, yes there's a Moo face on me and it's adorable!!

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by the Sawyer Moo's butt and the red barn. I think I've shared the red barn before but not sure I mentioned that it was one of the selling points when we bought our home. I mean, who doesn't want a red barn, right? πŸ˜‚

We've been staying home a lot these last weekends and although I love the down time.. I want to go camping somewhere, dammit! We have a sweet trip planned for the end of August but I want to go on an adventure soon with the Moo!

Weekend Snapshots | 18

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by Remidog and Sawyer Moo. The weather was nice in Houston so we spent a lot of time playing outside. Sawyer hasn't quite figured out the backyard and why it's so big but he does play a lot. Mostly with the humans as his pack members aren't fully comfortable with him yet. Finn is a bit jealous as you can imagine since he's no longer the baby of the family.

We were supposed to go camping to our favorite place, Flat Creek Crossing, but husband got hurt Friday evening so our trip was canceled. I was looking forward to the trip but not the heat. We were going to try actual camping instead of glamping with our pop-up.

Most of these shots are from my Instagram Stories. Yeah, I've been sharing quite a lot there. I've noticed that a lot more people are doing the same. I guess there's less pressure on there since you don't have to get likes or comments. Plus, it's quicker than actually posting a picture.

Before you move on to the pictures- July 4th is upon us and if you live outside of the Houston city limits like I do (or anywhere that fireworks are allowed) then you've seen the firework trailers up and even heard them for about a week now. Remidog has made it a point to let us know that they are out there and they freak him out. We make sure that he doesn't go outside without one of his humans. We keep him away from the windows. We make sure he has a toy, preferably his KONG. We give him lots of cuddles and attention. And we make sure our TV is on loud enough to help drown out the noise. There are a number of other things that you can do to keep your pack calm but the number one thing is to keep them away from the fireworks.

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by one of my little old ladies, Leana Little. She turned 11 this year and although that's pretty grown in our familia, she is not our oldest. Chula the Chi turned 14 in January. Yeah, we've got some serious seniors in the pack and we love it! I share her picture with you so that you don't forget that although I have a cute little puppy and my favorite kid, Finnashit, I still have a total of 5 pups in my pack. It always makes me laugh when people freak out at me having 5 dogs. It's really not that much work and the love is so damn real!

We didn't do much this weekend. I ran a few errands Saturday and had Father's Day breakfast with my pops on Sunday. Since not much was done this weekend, I share with you below some adorable pictures of Sawyer Moo. Don't miss the last picture, though, where I share a picture of my pops and I!

Sponsored | Paperless Post

Disclosure: This post is published in partnership with Paperless Post.
All opinions are my own.

Did you know we welcomed a new pack member this month? His name is Sawyer Moo and you can read more about him here. We haven't had a new kid in the familia in a little over three years and it's been rough especially since he's been a bit sick. So when Paperless Post, a company focused on design-driven online and printed stationery, contacted me for a partnership, I knew a welcome party was very much needed!

On the Paperless Post website's About Me section, you'll find info on their vision, their product, and their company. They have found a way to redefine the way we connect with people both online and off by providing you with beautiful designs. And it very easy way to design these cards with a simple and straight to the point website.

Sawyer Moo Reed - New Pack Member!

No #WeekendSnapshots this week because I have something better to share. The Reed pack has a new family member and we've named him Sawyer Moo Reed! Sawyer Moo was bailed out of the Harris County Animal Shelter* 06/05/17 after being there since the 23rd of May. He is a Pit Bull although they called him a "Mastiff". Apparently, they call Pit's that in the shelter 🀷 He is about 14 weeks young and weighs a total of 13 lbs!

Let me tell you the story of how this kid ended up joining our family by accident.
Okay, not really by accident but follow along for more pictures, too!

Today's Weekend Snapshots is brought to you by Marco's Pizza and this delicious freaking pie! We're typically Papa John's or Dominos but the husband tried Marco's once and now we're on our fourth visit, I think. The service is great, the prices are great, and the pie is amazing! What more can you ask for?

It was a rainy and super humid weekend in the H so we tried to stay indoors as much as we could. These are the best weekends, aside from our camping trips, because we get to spend mucho time together eating at home and watching movies.

Carpe Tacos Tote Bag Review | Society 6

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post
but there are affiliate links in this post.

A few weeks back I bought my very first Society6 tote. I actually bought one for myself and one for Mama Carrizo. Thanks to the 18" x 18" tote I bought her, I didn't have to wrap the rest of her Mama's Day gifts πŸ˜„  I did wrap them up in tissue paper, though 😏  Click here to see the tote I bought her. She's the bag lady of our family and she's been on this reading kick so I went with this Bookworms bag, get it? πŸ˜„

What is Carpe Taco, you ask? Pick Taco. Enjoy Taco. Seize Taco. Use Taco. I'm a Taco Everyday type of person so this design spoke to me! The fact that it's blue did add brownie points when deciding if I should buy it. Thankfully, Society6 stays having deals so the price wasn't much of an issue. Sign up for their newsletter and get their deals via email!

Today's Weekend Snapshots is brought to you by my visit to Barnes & Nobles over the weekend! I bought some goodies and none included an actual book. No frown face needed as I have enough books right now.

I spent this weekend without the husband as he left to New Mexico Wednesday night. I took it as a sign for me to fully recharge. Not just physically but mentally and emotionally. This meant sitting on my ass for extended periods of time and also doing some cleaning. I did some major late spring-early summer cleaning which led me to drop off three bags to Goodwill. And then I ended up at Michael's and Barnes & Nobles. #dontjudgeme

Bujo 101 | Brazos Bookstore

Shopping local is my thing. But I admit that even though I'm a fan of books and everything paper, I've never been in a Houston bookstore. I'm not talking about the big chain bookstores. Of course, I've been in those. I'm talking about a one-of-a-kind Houston bookstore. A bookstore where the employees greet you and it's real. A place that isn't too big or too small. Where the atmosphere doesn't smell of anything other than the sweet smell of all the book pages in the building! 😍

This place is Brazos Bookstore and it's located near Kirby Drive on Bissonnet Street in my sweet, sweet city of Houston! A little bit of this bookstore from their site-

"In 1974, Karl Kilian opened Brazos Bookstore to encourage the growth and development of the emerging Houston literary scene with a clear focus on personalized service, community engagement, and passionate curation...."

"...Brazos Bookstore continues to be locally owned by a group of twenty-seven Houstonians who came together and purchased the bookstore when Kilian announced his retirement in 2006. Read about our current staff here."

So while visiting this bookstore was on my Must Visit list, I am rarely around this area of town as I live very much west of it. What brought me to finally visit this bookstore was a Bullet Journaling 101 workshop. I saw it on Facebook and immediately clicked going and shared it with my homies.

I got there an hour before it started not necessarily by choice but because it was the smartest thing to do. If I went home not only would I not make it on time but I would probably get too comfy and decide to pass on the workshop. Getting there early gave me time to look around and also pick a good seat. My table was full of fantastical folks with many jokes. We all become friends on Instagram because having paper loving homies is the best, no?

We learned quite a few things and not only did we discuss BUJO but Kristara from Kristara Calligraphy taught us a little about hand lettering. I swear this lady is a Goddess with the skills she has and she's as sweet as can be.

The second workshop will be held at Brazos Bookstore
on July 20th and you definitely don't want to miss it!

Thank you, Brazos Bookstore, our Bujo teacher Ülrika Moats,
and Kristara for this fun workshop!

Today's Weekend Snapshots is brought to you by the incredible appetizer I picked at Perry's Steakhouse & Grille for Mama's Day yesterday. This dish is Perry's Signature fried asparagus and they top it with jumbo lump crabmeat. As if fried anything wasn't good enough they just had to add crabmeat. I'm not upset, though, it was amazing in every way.

Perry's Mama's day dinner was a pricey one but a well-deserved dinner. Mama Carrizo is the most amazing human I know and she is worth much more but this is the place she picked so we were all for it. It was our first visit and we were very impressed. It wasn't just the food that was incredible. The service was on point. It's good for your soul to go all out on a delicious meal every once in a while. Trust.

Overall, I had a weekend full of really tasty food and
ya can't be mad at that, can ya? 😁

Here are a few links that caught my attention this week!

Remember that Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial that bombed so freaking hard?
Heineken did a fantastical job with this commercial and it's definitely worth a watch.

Slow cooker shredded tacos that my husband made for me last night!
They were ah-mazing!

A giant lion was carved from one single tree by 20 people in China.
I like art, I really do. But I'm sad for the tree.

15 makeup goodies you'll want to switch your pricey goodies for.

I haven't read the book yet or seen the TV show but Houston's Brazos Bookstore is holding a screening for The Handmaid's Tale today at 7 PM.

I found a new high-res stock photo site that lets you use their photos for whatever you want.

She hasn't had luck finding her family and she'd appreciate it if you shared her story.
Edit: The news said she now has a foster!

A really great piece on Houston from Los Angeles Times and how it has become the most diverse place in America.

One of the books I added to my to-read list over on Goodreads

Today's WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by tasty shrimp fried rice at Miyabi Sushi Japanese RestaurantMiyabi's has been on this series MANY times and it's because its REALLY is good! I wouldn't rave about something (especially if it involves food) like this if it wasn't legit. It's a cute and quiet place with very polite servers. One piece of advice- Get the Angry Roll. I swear you'll thank me later!

So it's been a while since I stopped by and wrote something here. I realize I said I'd be back some time ago but life has been entertaining. Notice I didn't say busy because honestly, aren't we all busy? I was on vacation with my familia the third week of April which was fantastical and much needed. See, Mama Carrizo, my two older sisters, and I haven't been on a vacation, just the four of us, in a little over a decade. Life freaking happened and we couldn't get our work and traveling schedule right. Until this year!! I'll spare you all the details but I will tell ya this. We went to Panama City Beach, Florida for about ten days and I enjoyed the fuck out of the sun (with lots of skincare goodies) and the fantastical beach!!

Vacations are needed, people, so get you some!!

The week I came back from vaca was Rough with a capital R! Catching up on a four-day work week was one of the things I thought I had prepared myself for. I wasn't ready. Oh, and then there was the fact that I worked for at least an hour every day during the vaca. πŸ™Š  That following weekend was the husband's birthday and off we went on a camping trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park. That was another great adventure for us as we took the Finnster! More of that later. (I know I say that a lot. 'More of that later' shit. But I swear when I write it, I really mean it. It's just that.. uh, I have no excuse. Just know that I do mean it. LOL!)

from the blog but you can still find me on my social networks!

I'll be heading out to Panama City Beach, FL with my mom and
two sisters this weekend and I'll be back April 25th.

Yeah, I started the hiatus a week early because I'm lazy and won't be updating the blog.

Anyways, have a great two weeks and I'll see ya when I come back!

PL + 2017 + WK 1

Today I'm taking it back to 2014 and starting Project Life, again! I've tried this form of memory keeping for three years and have yet to complete an entire year. Starting it again this year doesn't necessarily mean I'll be finishing this year. It means that I'm tired of seeing all my scrapbooking goodies not being used. Not to mention the amount of cash I've spent on cards, stamps, paper, stickers, etc. So yeah, crossing my fingers once again.

This year I'm going back to the 12x12 format because the 9x12 format didn't do it for me. I blame switching sizes to not following through last year 🀷🏻‍♀️ I did so much research on the size and I was so excitamated when I finally jumped on a sale to buy the new binder and clear sheets. But no. It was a major fail on my part. I couldn't adapt to the smaller version with all the shit I wanted to add each week. What I am keeping is the Monday to Sunday weeks so that I can keep my weekends in one spread instead of splitting them up every week. I plan on cutting the ton of 12x12 pages I have for my backgrounds and keeping the journaling short.

FYI: These pictures are shit and I apologize. My camera's flash died (think I mentioned it before) so I've been improvising "light" in different ways.

Wish me luck 😁

Weekend Snapshots | 12

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by my shade game via the HTX Boss Babes Spring Pop-Up Market! I tried three pairs of shades on by Vida Antigua and then realized they were the same except a different color, haha! That meant I had to buy a pair, right? My sister liked a few so she hooked me up with a navy pair!

I'm really big on shopping local and of course handmade so visiting this pop-up market with Mama Carrizo and my sister was a big deal to me. I wanted them to see the goodies the ladies in our city create and how much fun it is to hang out at these markets. Truth is, my mama might be joining some of these pop-up shops soon. More on that later!

Weekend Snapshots | 11

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by my birthday adventure to Pace Bend Park in Spicewood, TX! This was my view Sunday morning while awaiting a tasty birthday breakfast. Shout out to Ana for gifting me this lovely book by rupi kaur titled milk and honey (affiliate)! So yes, I turned 33 and if my birthday weekend is any indication of what 33 will be like.. I am so freaking ready!!

The plan since our January adventure has been to have at least one trip a month this year! So when my birthday landed on a weekend, we knew we had to plan a birthday trip! We invited some homies and their pups and off we went. I thank all the gods for allowing my birthday trip to happen without any major storms. I mention this because we heard Houston was hit with some heavy storms so we definitely dodged that bullet.

We ate a lot. The trip and the fantastical food menu for the weekend was my husband's gift to me. He said he thought about what it was that I truly loved and what made me incredibly happy. He didn't have to think too much because eating came to mind almost immediately πŸ˜‚ He searched the interwebs for tasty camping grub and BAM! He came through for me, haha!

Anyways, check out the snapshots below and don't forget
to watch the last video. I promise you it'll make you smile and maybe even laugh!

Today's #ThePaperFiles post is brought to you by cereal and Typo! That's right, this month's giveaway is full of awesome Typo goodies and I'm excitamated about it! I teamed up with Bre from Brewrites for March's giveaway!

I typically like to have a theme for these giveaways. Bre and I really didn't have an idea on what we wanted the theme to be but we both like the color black so we rolled with it. This is my birthday month so you'd think we could have come up with something else. LOL! To be honest, it was a weekday evening when we met up at Typo and you know how exhausting it is to be an adult.. the end of the week just made it worse. But, we did stop at Tout Suite and that's always a fun & delicious stop! My husband was out of town so I bought 4 macarons and actually got to eat them myself 🀣

One more thing- I want to apologize if the pictures are crappier than usual. My camera's flash died and I haven't repaired it yet. These pictures are my first ones taken outside in the sun. I'm sure most would say that this is the best way to do it but whatevs 🀷😁

Weekend Snapshots | 10

Today's #WeekendSnapshots is brought to you by the Houston Rodeo, my sister, and this mama that was stressed out and ready to give birth (she more than likely already did!). According to Mama Carrizo, we saw the Rodeo animals together about 22 years ago. I admit that the times I've been there since then, I've only been to the concert or I go straight to the food. I'm not much of a carnival ride person because I'm not trying to die. Not that people die on them, I just can't handle it πŸ˜‚

Seeing the animals was pretty exciting to me! Now although I love animals, I am not a vegetarian but don't think I haven't considered it. A few years ago my husband showed me a video of how cows are mistreated and then killed. It freaking broke me. I think I lasted a month or so without beef, pork, & chicken. The reason why I went back was because I started to feel a bit weak and I wasn't sleeping right. I believe it was because I wasn't getting those nutrients elsewhere. I've considered doing it again, I just have to find the right mix because you know I love to eat!

This isn't to say that all Houston Rodeo animals are killed or not because I honestly don't know the deal with these animals. I do know that none of them looked to be mistreated or upset. We saw a few steers that were very affectionate towards their handler and that definitely put a smile on my face!
