Weekend Snapshots | 34

Today I'm sharing my Weekend Snapshots, pt. 34 brought to you by my delicious bear claw and smoothie from Panera Bread. I could totally use this as my breakfast today I met Connie from Momma of Dos Saturday morning so she could hook me up with the tickets I won on her blog last week. Also to discuss the blogging world and how we have a sweet idea for an event you won't want to miss. More on that later.

Before we hit Panera Bread, we met at Five Below. Everything in the store is $5 or less (almost everything). I call it the dollar store on crack. The goodies range from school supply, to nail polish, to work out equipment to coloring freaking books. It's a dangerous place to be in without a partner to remove you from the store. Luckily, I was there for Connie :) There were tons of journals with cute or funny sayings on the front. The one we thought best described us is the one in the picture below. Not that we're mean or anything ;) We also took school pictures at Five Below. Connie with her big curly blonde hair and me with my gangsta keyboard LOL!

E caught a good picture of me and the kid Saturday afternoon. I get so caught up taking pictures of my kids, friends, family, FOOD, etc that I don't take too many pictures of me. So this was nice.. especially since my oldest and my youngest are in this shot. This is also the last picture taken with Shanks, my iPhone 5. More on that later..

After the picture with my boy, E & I hit the Goodwill up with goodies we no longer cared for. That blue recliner was purchased for Remidog at a thrift store years ago. He used the hell out of it and even shared it with his siblings. We didn't find a good place for it in our new house so we left it in the garage for when Remidog sits out there with E. Thankfully, E scored some comfier sits a while back so we put those in the garage to replace the recliner. We took some rugs, clothes, a nerf gun and some home deco we just couldn't add to our home now.

After the Goodwill, I convinced E to go with me to the ATT store to see about upgrading Shanks. It's not something I wanted to do but more that I needed to do it. Shanks wasn't working properly and in this day and age.. it's a huge problem. Especially when the battery wouldn't hold the charge. My plan was to upgrade to a 6 and move on, but nooooo Julie (the rep) just had to tell us about the $99 bundle they had going on. E's eyes lit up when she said we could get the 6 and the iPad mini for $99. I certainly didn't need one, but it would have been nice to upgrade my 2 for the mini. Long story short, I bought both the phone (for me) and the mini (for him). Conclusion -> my husband is spoiled.

I'm adjusting nicely to the 6. It is bigger in my petite hands, but it's just so freaking nice. Oh, and the fact that it holds a charge is amazing! Who would have thought it would do that LOL! I ordered a case and tempered glass screen protector on Amazon that should arrive manana. Until then, the original plastic it came with will not be removed. I'll stroke out if something happens before I get the protective gear on it. No, seriously.

blu PLUS+ e-Cigs | Do you vape?

This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. Readers must be 18 years of age or older. All opinions are mine alone. #bluPLUS #CollectiveBias

If we don't know each other personally, chances are you don't know I'm a cigarette smoker. My husband smokes, my sister smokes, my dad smoked up until five years ago (cold turkey) and a lot of my friends are smokers too. Needless to say, we were all pretty bummed out when the No Smoking indoors ordinance showed up in Houston. I've been a cigarette smoker for over 15 years and have tried multiple brands & flavors (menthol only). It wasn't until 3 birthdays ago when my father-in-law introduced me to the vaping world that I learned more about a different way to smoke & still get my nicotine fix. It was a whole new world for me, the vaping world that is. Since then I've gone back and forth from cigarettes to vaping but my husband has been vaping strong with no cigarettes for three and a half years. Maybe I have commitment issues, haha!

Weekend Snapshots | 33

Today I'm sharing what should have been posted yesterday- Weekend Snapshots, pt 32. Today's post is brought to you by Mama Carrizo, my sister Gaby and meeee! This past weekend was my sister's birthday and we did what we do best.. shop & grub! We hit up our usual stop, HomeGoods & Marshalls and then went to Red Lobster for dinner.

The picture above is my favorite from the weekend. I like how real my smile looks and Mama Carrizo throwing the deuce? Oh yeah, she's from Alief alright LOL! The picture after the cut is hilarious because they told me it would be a silly picture, not a good one. They obviously lied LOL! I'm also wearing the shirt my sister hooked me up with not too long ago that says, Love Fades Pizza Doesn't. It's a 100% true statement and I can't be more prouder to wear it!

I hooked my sister up with her first James Avery jewelry. A charm with her favorite saying, Live, Love, Laugh, and a necklace. I'm pretty sure JA now has a fan for life! Mom hooked her up with some clothes & some pretty earrings! We got a chance to see all the Halloween goodies at HomeGoods. If you're in the market for Halloween or Thanksgiving deco, hit up HomeGoods for great prices. Nope, I still don't write for them, but I'd like to!  I had shrimp tacos at Red Lobster and because I practically swallowed our appetizer, I didn't finish my tacos, but I took them home for my fatty husband ;)

Speaking of E, he's on this bike riding kick lately which has him riding almost every day. He does all sorts of sweet trails and after the cut there's a picture he took that I really liked because of all the greenery. If only we could get my bike fixed so I can go riding too Sigh

The last three pictures are of my kids doing what they do best.. lay around the house and eat. I swear they have no idea how good they have it. I wish someone fed me, cuddled me, bathed me and paid all my bills too. Maybe in the next life? I can hope, right? Haha!

Project Life | 22

Today I'm sharing Week 22 of my Project Life. The way I made this layout was very different for me. I used an entire 12x12 sheet from my paper hoarding box and two cards. I've thought about using a 12x12 before but wasn't inspired by any particular sheet. The one I used here has been hanging around my desk (w/ a few more I really like) and I felt like I was doing it an injustice.

If you hoard paper like I do, then you know how this goes. You buy said paper (or journal) because of it's coloring or texture. You convince yourself that you're going to use it and sometimes even have the perfect idea on how to use it. But we both know you're not going to use it. You'll stick it on a shelf or in a box with the rest of the guys who had hopes they'd be used. It's just inevitable when you're a paper hoarder (lover).

I really like that I finally used this 12x12 sheet but I'm not 100% sure that I used it right. I mean, it looks great as a background but because I prefer more black&white in my layouts.. this looks sort of funny to me. Anyways, this week we had the Memorial Day flood, enjoyed some waffle shaped pancakes, we bought our first big KALLAX from IKEA, celebrated National Burger Day (because why not), and got an interesting fact on my Snapple drink- Fish can drown. Who would have thought, right?

Are you working on Project Life too or another type of scrapbooking? I'd love to check it out!

P.S. Sorry about the lighting on the last picture, not sure what happened. :|

Weekend Snapshots | 32

Today's post is brought to you by bath time with Chula, the Chi. She doesn't completely hate bath time because who doesn't like free massages, right? She shivers like we're on the North Pole and fills my hands up with kisses Aww! After bath time, she disappears to her bed and burrows herself until it's dinner time or potty time. If Finn has legs for days, Chula has ears for days haha! For those who don't know, Chula is 11 years old and lost her mama, Grandma Zoey, last September. Chula is the oldest & the smallest of my pack. <3

The kids and I hung out all weekend without any interruptions. Occasionally my battery runs really low and I randomly pick a Saturday to charge back up. This Saturday was definitely it since I slept until almost 1 in the afternoon. I'm not ashamed to admit it happens maybe once a month. A good night's rest is extremely important for your health (even if it lasts into the afternoon, LOL). Especially if you've been stressed out with work and hell, life in general.

My boys did their usual weekend stunt which is play hardcore and then chill hardcore. In the first picture after the cut Remi is being vocal with me, as usual. He was upset that someone was walking by our house Gasp! The horror! so after telling him to park his butt, he mouthed off. It was a perfect shot showing a frustrated, back-talking kid and a happy, KONG (affiliate) chewing kid.

Batman & Texas, two of my favorite things <3 Jay is still holding down her potty area in our backyard. It's the only section she handles her business in and it's quite funny to watch her figure out a good spot for the goods. The itty bitty light by our backdoor is surprisingly bright and there's a plant from the side of our casa that is most definitely interested in intertwining itself with the light and the fence -shrugs-

Last shot is of the two boys & their big little tomboy sister. It warms my heart to see my pack snuggle together. It's one thing to snuggle with the humans but to see them snuggle together.. ahh it's so freaking sweet. E & I like to jump in the snuggle fest but that just means Remidog will make a stop bothering me noise while Leana tries to lick your face and Finn possibly farts on you. Ahh, the joys of dog parenting!

The Paper Files | 3 - Batman

Today I'm sharing my newest finds in The Paper Files, three journals and a wicked pencil. I was doing my usual shopping at you know where and stopped in the clearance aisle. Tip: If you have a favorite store, look for the clearance section. It could potentially make your day. But I'm sure you knew this already, right? As I was moving shit around on the shelves to discover hidden goodies, I saw the glorious journal you see above. A DC Comics Bat-freaking-man lined journal!!! I struck freaking gold, man!!

Weekend Snapshots | 31

Fancy's dash - I'm listening to Little Dragon/Nabuma Rubberband
Today's post is brought to you by the heat in Houston. It's ridiculous and because of it, I stayed my happy ass indoors. Except when I had to go to Whataburger to celebrate the 65th anniversary. There was no way the weather would prevent me from celebrating because Whataburger!!

It's been a while since I've visited a Vape Shop because I'm currently back on cigs Yeah, I'm a smoker, but E broke his tank and needed a new one stat. Mostly for our sanity because without nicotine we're just not very nice. Haha! We went to a shop he's visited one other time where he received some good service but when we went... it wasn't so good so we left without buying anything. I took a picture of one of their case because I thought it was funny that they had two PS3 from when they first came out. I'm guessing they don't work anymore, but they could be for sale. Anyways, we found another shop down the street that looked more like a club for teens than a vape shop. There was a DJ (that didn't sound too bad), pizza and clouds of vapor that made it impossible to see.. not to mention the music was so loud it was just as hard to talk/listen. We grabbed what we needed and left.

My new obsession, Gold Peak, Lemonade Iced Tea. I've had it before but recently tried it again and I cannot get enough of it. My local Krogers has two of these smaller bottles for $4 so of course I bought two. Really wish they had the bigger jug so that I could maybe pace myself. It's glorious though and if you're into iced tea with lemonade, you've gotta try this one.

Like I mentioned above, E & I hit Whataburger up for their 65th anniversary. E got the Whatasize drink/fries while I enjoyed my regular size. I'm not ashamed to admit that I ate all my fries and all of my burger.. plus the last of E's burger. He put onions, pickles, two patties and jalapenos and I swear it was the greatest day on earth when I took a bite. Strange for me because I don't like pickles or onions on my burger but goodness.. I may have just found a new combo.

The last shot is my favorite from the weekend. My three guys cuddling on the couch. E & Finnashit play fight a lot because Finn's a little turd so when they cuddle together it warms my heart. Especially when the three of them cuddle. My guys are so spoiled!

Weekend Snapshots | 30

Today's post is brought to you by my oldest boy, Remidog. The bed he is laying on is an Orvis bed that Jay got for her 9th birthday. I've always wanted an Orvis bed for my kids but since they're pricey and my boys like to tear shit up, I've purchased beds from Marshalls/Homegoods.. just like I do with the clearance toys, haha!

I spent most of Saturday afternoon working on my EPIC BLOG (affiliate) planner and my blog. I have tons of ideas now that the creative funk has gone its own way. Hallelujah! Instead of writing in the book, I chose to write in a journal I got at the Thrive Blog Con earlier this year with my Momma of Dos pen :) This way I can use the book for years to come with no issues.

E & his primo Bubba hit the bike trails Saturday and afterwards we hit up the favorite Mexican joint. It's been a long time since we've been there and boy was it nomtastic. E decided to be the only adult at our table and ordered a beerita with a Dos X, haha! I ordered enchiladas verdes which really can't be photographed pretty so I chose to go with my charros. I LOVE charro beans!!

Like I mentioned above, Jay got an Orvis bed for her 9th birthday and the boys are happily breaking it in for her. After the cut, you'll see two pics of the kids on the bed. One of Finnashit acting all model like and the other of him and Jay on the bed. I love all my kids but the love I have for Jay is like no other. We've been through some serious shit together and when I tell you that she was there for me.. I speak the truth. Folks who don't own dogs will never understand this feeling but it's real.

It's been two Sundays in a row that Remidog has jumped on our bed. It's a big deal because we don't let our kids get on the bed. It's mostly because their hair irritates the hell out of my skin & because I know they like to roll around in shit haha! But he's gotten away with it and to be honest, I kind of like it :)

I decided to use my Kate Spade planner until the end of the year and use the ban.do planner January of next year.. that doesn't mean I can't share pages from them both though, right? :)
