Project Life | Wk 21

Today I'm sharing Week 21 of my Project Life. So that creative funk I told you about.. yeah, it's still around :( I had such a hard time getting this layout done because of it. I tried several layouts before actually gluing my pictures down. I finally gave up, grabbed a 12x12 at the top of my paper stack and went for it. I cut two 6x4 pieces out of the 12x12 and used the same colors on it to add stickers and embellishments. It really required a small amount of creativity which I am so very grateful for, haha!

This week starts off with a snapshot of my little man inside his sister's crate -facepalm- He's pretty sure everything in the house is his even if it's too small for him. A good friend of mine had a birthday this week so we had a tasty lunch date at Cafe Express. I received my work shirts which made me super duper happy. I remember disliking school uniforms as a kid and now I really appreciate how easy it is to put myself together in the morning, haha! I share a shot of Mama Carrizo smiling and looking amazing from our lunch at the OG. Two more shots of the little man being a pain.. one sleeping (as usual) and the other from after his bath. A #aristumbles shot and a selfie of me in Fancypants. That sums up the week and time to work on the next one..

Weekend Snapshots | 29

Today's Weekend Snapshots is brought to you by the nomtastic burger I had for dinner at home. K, so technically this is my husband's burger (I don't like onions), but his was way more photogenic than mine was. We've made burgers two weekends in a row and I think we're going to make it a Casa de Reed weekend tradition. I mean, my stomach isn't complaining so why not, right?

I'm not into malls or crowded stores because people so I do most of my shopping online. Unless your name is Target or Homegoods/Marshalls. I make exceptions for those because my soul would not be the same without them. Oh, and then there's HEB but lately Krogers has been my place for groceries. So yes, I do a lot of online shopping and Old Navy is one of those places. I'm not a huge fan of their clothes because the sizes are weird and because the quality of their clothes isn't always really good. But my husband loves their jeans & khakis so I shop there for him. I bought him a few things and bought myself some slip-on sandals which finally arrived on Saturday. I've been peeping these type of sandals for about a month now but since I really love my money & I don't like buyers remorse.. I've been holding out. I saw these and went for it because why not, right? They fit nicely and seem comfy, but I sort of feel like they're too masculine.. E says it's all in my head (which I don't doubt) so we'll see how it goes.

We also received our Lootcrate this weekend and the goodies were awesome as usual. One of the things in the box was a "She can do it" poster with Wonder Woman. I put it on my corkboard above my desk for those moments when I'm not feeling confident. If you're not already a Lootcrate member, you should really look into becoming one. Click here for more info.

Croissants are my shizzle! I could seriously eat the entire case in one sitting and feel sick as hell afterwards.. but it would totally be worth it. Toasted croissants, mmm!

The last shot is of my PL. I'm almost two months behind, but I'm still going. Sometimes the creative funk gets the best of me and I fall behind. Kind of how I'm falling behind on my blog. The creative funk is real!! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, haha!

Here are a few of my favorite things this week..

Converse is changing up their Chucks for the first time in 98 years. More cushion & more money.. both are probably worth it & since I practically live in Chucks, I won't have a problem with the changes.

When you think of farmers, you think of a man. These photos will make you think otherwise.

Flavorize yourself with the Talenti Gelato site. My name is Ladyfinger Almond Champagne LOL!

Connie from Momma of Dos has once again joined in on the #WeekendSnapshots posts. Check out her snapshots here.

Txhumor.com is having a sale until midnight tonight. 15% off using ITSHOTYALL. This is the site I get all of my fantastical Texas shirts.

A list of 10 Houston bars that are dog-friendly <3

22 awesome tricks to help speed clean your casa because who doesn't like new tricks?

Michelle at Becoming a Heath has a super easy Instagram hack you don't want to miss.

NASA confirmed the first near-Earth-size planet around a sun-like star. It's been called Kepler-452b and it's the smallest planet to date discovered orbiting in the habitable zone.

19 cool apps for foodies. I hear Instacart is pretty legit!!

Pardon me for being away this week. The blogging funk is real and hopefully on its way out.

Have a fantastical weekend!
See you Monday with a recap of my weekend

Weekend Snapshots | 28

Today's Weekend Snapshots is brought to you by Remidog, Finnashit & the powerful KONG (affiliate). These boys could be acting up or sleeping so hard they're drooling.. but the moment the KONG is seen.. they immedieately stop & stare at the KONG! We've been meaning to get another KONG so that the boys each have one but they seem to interact more with just one. Plus, Finn likes to play with whatever his brother plays with and vice-a-versa.

I had Pinks Pizza Saturday for the first time and I was very pleased! The bread is the most important part for me because unlike most folks, I like to eat the entire slice. I mean, the huesito (the crust) is my all time favorite part.. especially if there's some type of delicious dipping sauce. Mmm, so freaking good! Definitely recommend them if you're in the area of their 7 locations.

Friday night I met up with three fantastical ladies that I've known for 5+ years. We used to go out a lot and have a great time until adulthood really hit us. You know exactly what I mean by that too, don't ya? Marriage, bills, work, school, family and so on. Plus we're much older now. Going out and getting shit faced is not something we're down for. Not that we did that alot but now we really can't hang for shit, haha! I swear the hangover the next day is not pretty when you get older. Eek! Oh and one of them is preggos so that's def a no can do. Yay for being preggos!! <3

So the ladies (& one hubby) tried a new place (to me) called Bar Boheme in the Montrose area. This is the area of town we always go to because of the amazing grub and awesome atmosphere! While waiting for the ladies to get to the bar, I searched #barboheme on Instagram and srsly fell in love. I saw a picture of the Vietnamese Fries they sell and knew, no, I FELT I needed them in my life. Think I'm exaggerating? Let me tell you what is in these nomtastic fries.. Hoisin, garlic mayo, cilantro, crushed peanuts AND lots and lots of Sriracha (affiliate) or as we call it.. Cock Sauce. Yeah, that's not ketchup you see, it's spicy ass cock sauce. It was on our table for a good 6 minutes before it disappeared and we were ordering a pizza, haha! We ordered the Truffle Mushroom pizza with red sauce, oyster mushrooms, mozzarella, garlic, truffle salt, rosemary and truffle oil. Yes, pretty damn good too, but I removed the oyster mushrooms because shrooms and I do not get along..

Sunday was a rough day in Casa de Reed. We did some serious Spring, er, Summer cleaning in our garage. E brought home some furniture from work that was perfect for our garage and we hung up my bike next to his. Yes, I have a bike that Mama Carrizo hooked me up with. Really need to get my ass going on it. In the garage we made three piles.. trash, Goodwill and attic. Can you gues which one was the bigger pile? Yeah, Goodwill for sure LOL! Another piece of furniture that E brought home was a KALLAX. You know I LOVE IKEA, so when he said "I have one of those cubbie things from IKEA that you like", I immedeiately told him yes! I mean, you don't say no to KALLAX/EXPEDIT, right? So we swapped out our entertainment stand for it and will be taking our old TV stand and cabinet thang to Goodwill sometime this week. Very productive weekend with lots of good times!

These are a few of my favorite things this week.

"You now know what true, unconditional love really is." Sweet list of 21 things all rescue pup parents know to be true.

Having trouble with blog post ideas? Then this list of 25 blog posts is definitely one you should bookmark.

For people who live in tiny houses with kids, when does sexy time happen? Read this article "Dear people who live in tiny houses." You're guaranteed a laugh, haha!

Easy QR Code generator that everyone should have bookmarked. Especially if you want to print out a QR code for the wi-fi at your casa.

The hustle is strong with this one. Read about Prince Harvey's hustle as he records his music album in an Apple Store.

Don't send care packages overseas to our human soldiers only, our canine soldiers need them too. Find a list of things they need & how to send them here.

Susan Sarandon heard her name in an A$AP Rocky song, two years after it came out. Her tweet to A$AP Rocky is pretty funny.

When these two get together, the outcome is hilarious! Check out Tina Fey & Amy Poehler this December in their new movie called, Sisters.

I really, really want to get back into analog photography and this Lomography Kit (affliate) is calling my name. I should start using the ones I currently have but I'm probably going to come up with an excuse to get this one anyways, haha!

Amazing video of a kid building a massive Titanic replica with 30k+ Lego bricks. Must watch.

Project Life | Wk 20

Today I'm sharing Week 20 of my Project Life. This week I went with white and gray, again. I picked four of the same cards and kept the rest basic. Top two and bottom two photos were printed with a border so I didn't need a card for them. Thank goodness for that! I picked little circles for my cards in hopes that it would fill out the page evenly with the white backgrounds. I added a couple stickers here and there of different colors, which is a big deal to me because I like to be matchy-matchy haha!

This week started off with Mama's Day so that meant Mama Carrizo and I got our selfie on! She also got some sweet gifts from me, which I posted about later that week. Finnashit has never been big about going under the bed.. I'm pretty sure this is when it all started because now (July 14) that's all he wants to do when it's bedtime. We don't mind it so much since he can't really poop down there or mess anything up but what worries us is that he'll get stuck and panic in the middle of the night. That's some scary shit to wake up to, yanno? I included the "Please copy this if you know someone who knows someone.." pic that I posted on IG because I think it's hilarious! This is what it says in case it's too blurry-
Please copy this and post if you know someone, or heard of someone who knows someone that may have known someone who knows anyone. If you don't know anyone, or if you've heard of anyone who doesn't know anyone that doesn't know someone, then still copy this. It's important to spread the message. Oh, and that hearts. <3<3 Don't forget the freakin' hearts. <3 <3
Funny right? LOL! I also added an Ari selfie that I almost used for #aristumbles but I think I procrastinated this week and didn't do an #aristumbles post. My bad! But I did get a Remidog selfie.. more like he wanted the grub I had and wanted some which is why he's all in my grill... or maybe I'm all in his grill? Hm..

Weekend Snapshots | 27

Today's post is brought to you by Shankasaurus acting silly with mannequins in a dress & heels. Ok, so they're not legit heels cause they're wedges but let's not get picky here. I don't get this fancy often (literally only happens once a year, if that) so when it happens.. it's a big deal (to me). I also don't visit the Houston Galleria because people so when I saw the 900+ mannequins at Saks, I just had to take a picture Haha!

My childhood friend (& oldest knowing, 18+ years) had a baby boy on the first and Mama Carrizo & I met him on Saturday. Meet Sam Leon, the third and last kid, who is blessed with two older siblings that can't get enough of him and two fantastical parents who are raising their kids with mucho love! Can't wait to watch ya grow, little Sam! <3

So the reason the husband & I were all fancy schmancy was because we attended a friend's wedding Saturday night. The ceremony was held in the Heights under lots of trees and a beautiful gazebo. It was truly a perfect Saturday for a wedding & we are grateful to have been invited. I mean, it was crazy hot & humid but the moment the bride arrived, everyone forgot about their surroundings. She arrived in a vintage white car (too far to photograph) with her bridesmaids & MOH. I distinctly remember getting emotional as she grabbed her father's arm and he led her down the aisle. I also got very emotional when the bride & groom did their first dance. The combo of him lip-syncing to her the sweet song and her radiant smile made me all types of emotional. I mean, I wasn't balling but I had some serious tears. Love is such an amazing thing to watch.

Both the ceremony in the Heights and the reception at 51fifteen restaurant located above the Saks Fifth Ave store (who knew there was a restaurant up there) were fantastical! From the purple theme to the delicious  food no, really the food was ah-mazing to the funny dances and the fantastical smiles all around.. we had a great time & we couldn't be happier for the bride & groom. Congratulations Michelle & Mikey, we wish you nothing but the best on this new adventure together!!

Sunday consisted of some morning laziness on my part and then some housework with grocery shopping in the evening. I wore my awesome new shirt from Ript Apparel to the grocery store. This is my first time buying from Ript, but at $11 I thought it was worth giving them a shot. I love me some t-shirts, plus this is probably the best crossover I've seen in a long time. Bob's Burgers and Guardians of the Galaxy by irongiant775. FYI, Ript releases 3 shirts every day (not sure about the weekends) for $11 plus s&h. Ladies, I suggest ordering one size up as I am normally a small, but the Medium (after a wash) fits mucho better.

Did you notice the Space Invaders tie that E was wearing? Yeah, we thank Lootcrate for that. If you're not already signed up, click here. Lootcrate is a monthly subscription box of epic nerd & gamer goodies. We've been members for almost two years and have never received a box that wasn't completely awesome! Also order your shirts one size up, shrinkage is always a possibility.

No wedding or fun event is complete without a photo booth. Shout out to Extra-Ordinary Events for hooking it up with the awesome photo booth and props! The husband and I did pretty good on our shots and I'm pretty shocked about it, haha!

Epic Blog | One-Year Editorial Planner

Planners are my thing. I'm sure you've noticed. But the EPIC BLOG: One-Year Editorial Planner (affiliate) is not just any planner. It's a great way to stay organized while writing down your plans/goals to be profitable and have some type of purpose with your blog.

From Amazon:
This planner + workbook helps you create a purposeful and profitable content plan for your blog through a mini blog business plan, ideal reader survey, monthly theme planning, monthly content planning, standard monthly calendars, and more.
So of course when fantastical Kim from hernameiskim.com mentioned it in her awesome The Glitter Gang FB group (sign up here), you know I couldn't control myself & had to purchase it. This planner was made by Regina from byregina.com who is also a blogger that creates content for business owners and bloggers. She wants to make sure that your Epicness is seen by your readers, customers and fans. I mean, it doesn't get any better than that, right? Regina has a ton of workshops and great blog posts to help you be a fantastical blogger (or business owner).

I love stickers and crazy colors on my planners (See: ban.do post) but I also like simplicity (See: Majority of my PL posts). This book is black & white (a little bit of gray too) and it gets right to the point. You can be completely real with it without it judging you. It asks questions that are crucial to you becoming what you want to be in the blogging world (& business world).

I like blogging, but I don't expect it to be my main source of income (would be nice though). This is a hobby type thing for me and if it pays a little here and there, I'm super grateful, but it's totally not what I'm doing this for. I've been in the 'blogging' scene since the late 90's when it wasn't popular nor was it referred to as blogging. Had my friends and I known we could get paid for it back then, we'd be on a roll these days haha! What I'm getting at with this is that I really do like blogging, but I'm not willing to invest large amounts of my money to make it go viral. Mostly because I don't have that type of cash and because there are other ways of learning. The number one thing that I believe is important is to make friends with other bloggers. Ask questions and learn from them. Not all will be generous enough to help (you know how females like to tear each other down in other aspects of life, it's the exact same in the blogging community), but a few will not only be down to help.. they will also be your biggest resource.

Regina asked that we not photograph the entire book, but she has a great video that breaks it all down for you. You can find that video right here. I took a few pictures (on my cell, sorry) so you can get an idea of the greatness that is this book.

The months are blank so you can start whenever you want which I think is amazeballs because this way I don't feel like I've purchased a book I can't fully use. I plan on starting with a new month so I won't get going until August. Ahh, August! It came so soon, right?

Weekend Snapshots | 26

Today's post is brought to you by my happyass at the movies. I convinced E to go to the movies with me on Sunday. We don't normally go to movie theaters.. because people, haha! But early Sunday evenings aren't too bad.. plus we went to a theater we've never been to. Matter of fact, this is the first time we've gone to the movies since we bought Casa de Reed in Nov. '14. We're huge homebodies.. or hermits like one of my good friends calls me, haha!

July 4th made this weekend a crazy one for our Remidog. He's the only one who panics with fireworks (or really loud noises). We attribute it to his past of being a homeless, mangy pup because otherwise, he's a healthy pup! The best way to get him to calm down & relax is by cuddling up to him so everyone in the family helped out a bit. First picture after the cut shows Finnashit cuddling up to him because love!!

Finnashit has perfected sleep mode on anything or anyone, as I'm sure you've noticed in past pictures. Haha! Our AC is too good sometimes and the living room turns into a freaking freezer so I hide my feet under a pillow. You know cause getting up to put socks on is so much work! Finn gives no effs and lays his skinny body on the pillow while Chula lays on my lap. I swear I have no space or privacy with these kids LOL!

E & I watched the first four Terminators at home this weekend. The second movie will always be the best in my book, no matter what!!! The third one is lame and I call it the Tokyo Drift (Fast & Furious) of the Terminator series HAHA!! We picked Jurassic World to watch at the movies only because this series was a big deal to E when he was a kid (mostly the books). Plus, by the time the movie time rolled up on us, we weren't done with the fourth one.

On our way to the movies, Fancy thought it would be nice to have a flat tire. Come to find out, there was a huge screw in one of her shoes and that meant we had to go back home and switch rides. She's at the dealer this morning with Mama Carrizo to get a replacement shoe!

After the movie we went to Chuy's for dinner. I swear this place speaks to my soul yet this was my second visit. No clue why I haven't been there more often, it's not like its pricey or anything. I ate the chicken flautas & E ate a southwestern enchilada which looked more like an empanada. Weird. We also had some 'ritas because we like to adult hard! The section we sat in was full of dog pictures and dog art which we thought was pretty awesome!

If you're curious what I thought of the movie.. If I had to judge it from a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best.. I'd have to give it a 6. The story line was really bad but the action was legit. Humans doing what humans do best, attempting to be God, is always a fail to me. Any story that involves locking up animals for human entertainment is bad no matter how you look at it (but we never learn). Before I saw it, I remember people saying it reminded them of SeaWorld or the Zoo. After watching it, I have to agree 100%. Seems like greed is always number one in these types of movies (which happens a lot IRL). One idiot wants to make a crapload of money at the expense of an animal. Shame on them. A very small amount of comic relief but I guess if you're a Chris Pratt fan, you loved it but wanted more shirtless shots, haha! Don't think I'm giving it a 6 because of how they used the dinosaurs for entertainment.. I'm giving them a 6 because the story was super basic. Then again, it was PG-13 and most folks went to see it for the action. Def a rental rather than a theater movie for us!

K, I'm rambling as usual so let me stop...
