Movie Review: Kingsman The Secret Service

I was given free tickets courtesy of Gofobo to watch Kingsman: The Secret Service. I will not be compensated for my review nor did they ask that I make one.

E & I watched Kingsman: The Secret Service last night. It was a silly & entertaining movie with the main character being a cutie. Not only is he a cutie but he's a fellow potty mouth-er lol Is that a word? Haha!

Kingsman: The Secret Service is an action-spy movie with comedy relief on every corner. The movie is based on the comic book The Secret Service which was created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. These two guys are very creative and were a part of writing or drawing for these famous projects.. Kick-Ass, Batman, Doctor Who, & Wanted. The director of this film is Matthew Vaughn which produced one of my all time favs & possibly yours too, Snatch! I love dags! He also produced the last two X-Men movies, First Class & Days of our Future Past. Dude is just as talented as the writers. He had Jane Goldman as his co-writer and she helped him on his other projects too.

Kingsman stars Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong, Michael Caine, and the cutie Taron Egerton. I'm not a big fan of accents, especially English accents but I love it when they curse. My issue is I can't understand half the shit they say.. I'm sure I'm not alone on this lol

This film is about a secret society of spies which makes it very similar to James Bond with the cool gadgets and the awesome fight scenes. What I enjoyed the most was how unpredictable the movie was. Nowadays movies are so predictable or are remakes that it makes it almost not worth watching it.

Colin Firth plays Galahad, an agent that has been a Kingsman for a very long time. Taron Egerton plays Eggsy, a kid whose father was a Kingsman and died saving Galahad's life 17 years prior. Turns out all the Kingsman agents have to recruit one person, male or female, who they think would be a great addition to the service. Galahad picks Eggsy and it's definitely a good choice. Samuel L. Jackson plays the villain, Richmond Valentine. He's not your typical villain, though. He doesn't like blood and he has this funny Mike Tyson lisp that he does so well, haha! Fighting crime

Check out this clip of a fight scene between Colin Firth and some bad guys in a bar.

This film isn't on my top 5 or even 10 but it was definitely worth the watch. I was very entertained by it and really enjoyed the fight scenes. I don't think it's been rated yet but I'd say this should be rated R because of the language and how gruesome it can be on some of the fight scenes.

If you're still interested, check out the official trailer below. :)

Kingsman: The Secret Service comes out in theaters February 13th.

  2. After reading about it,I was worried that it was some Silvester Stallone garbage or Arnold Schwarznegger tripe but after seeing the clip it seems like enormous fun with some top notch acting. Now I am dying to see it.
