Friday Love 01.30.15 | NB+KS

Found on Pinterest
It should be of no surprise to you that I love Kate Spade (& Saturday). And I've been itching to get a pair of New Balance shoes. So of course when these two awesomesauce companies got together and came out with five new shoes, I had to be all over it. Mentally speaking of course because $95 on shoes right now would probably make the husband a bit upset -entersadfacehere-

Anyway, New Balance and Kate Spade Saturday got together and made sweet, sweet babies. No need to discuss the news about the closing stores because hopefully we'll always have the online stores. Stay positive dammit!

So there's two models, WX811 and WX711. These shoes are limited so if you want a pair or two, you should jump on this stat! Both models are made for working out and such but we both know Shankasaurus doesn't work out unless it involves food :)

Found on Pinterest

So tell me, which one is your favorite? I'm in love with both models for WX811, the second and third pair from the top. But the last pair, WX711 is pretty sweet too. Ahh maybe someone will gift me a pair -wink wink-

I'll see ya Monday with a recap of my weekend on Weekend Snapshots :)

Have a fantastical weekend!

Project Life | Wk 4

Woohoo! It's week 4 and I think I have a good thing going here. The plan this year was to do one week on a single page rather than two pages. Not as time consuming or overwhelming, yanno. That was the only plan I had for this years PL, heh! But last Sunday I decided that I would add to that plan by dedicating an hour or two every Sunday for the rest of the year. Before I know it, I'll have a full year of PL with fantastical memories!

I'm also sticking with one or two colors as my base for the layout and add-ons. I tried going crazy with random colors/themes last year but it didn't work for me so I'm going to stick with what I know. I'm sure all of this will change as the weeks go by and I experiment with ideas from the interwebs. :)

Iliza Shlesinger | Freezing Hot!

Like many of you, I have a Netflix love affair that grows more & more every day. My husband knows this and since he has the same love affair, it's all good. We cancelled cable some time last year and Netflix has been our go to guy. I don't need to go into detail because you probably have a similar love affair with Netflix.. so you know the deal.

Did you get an email from Netflix letting you know about this new stand up? Iliza Shlesinger's stand up, Freezing Hot? Thanks to that email, we watched it Sunday night. We laughed our asses off like nobody's business.

She was the winner of the sixth season of Last Comic Standing and now she has her own stand up. She tells great stories. She makes weird noises. She's in her 30's. She curses at the right time. She makes funny faces. She has a dog, Blanche. She has the funniest hashtags. And she's cute. What are you waiting for? Go watch!

Go show her love <3

Weekend Snapshots | 4

Yeah, that toy on the left is Jax Teller from Sons of Anarchy #don'tjudgeme

This weekend in Houston was glorious! I wanted to take the kids to the dog park but I was worried about all the mud from Thursday and Friday's horrible rain. Maybe next week! So yes, the weather was glorious but I spent most of my time inside shopping or organizing shizzle at home. :)

My mom, sister and I are addicted to Marshalls/Homegoods. We've been visiting various stores around Houston for the last few weekends. -facepalm- I know, we're bad. We just can't help it. The things are at decent prices and especially the shit we know we don't need. That's the best kind of shit to buy. I'm joking. You know that, right?! Lol!

So I spent some time with the familia on Saturday which is always super entertaining. On Sunday I didn't do shit, which was awesome! Casa de Reed got a much needed clean and my desks needed it too. And I did Project Life, Week 4. Super happy to be caught up on that. Post on that sometime this week.

E & I love toys. We both have our separate collection but his is larger thanks to Lootcrate's goodies. Lootcrate is a monthly subscription box with geek and gamer gear! I promise you'll love more than one item in the box. It always has a shirt in it too. The last shirt was a Transformer!!! Use code SAVE3 for $3 off!

Surprisingly, there were no food pictures this weekend. I know, I'm so disappointed..

Project Life '15 | Wk 1.2.3

What is Project Life? Project Life is a memory-keeping system created by Becky Higgins. This is my first year doing Project Life. I don't have any of my journaling cards organized in any way, they're all kinda mixed up so telling you the products I use will always be a little crazy.
This is my reintroduction to the Project Life world. I started PL at the end of '13 on a 6x8 turquoise binder from Simple Stories . A fellow Instagrammer mentioned that starting small might be easier and not so overwhelming. I did about three weeks and knew I was ready for a big binder. I bought a 12x12 turquoise Binder from We R Memory Keepers and got to work.

I went through my pictures from last year and got all giddy and mushy inside. It really is nice to go back and have those memories printed and recorded in a binder. I didn't make it very far last year.. about the 12th week I think but this year I am determined to go all the way. I reallllly want a 9x12 binder from Studio Calico but not for $30 #sorrynotsorry So I'll stick to my big 12x12 and maybe do a little on my 6x8, we'll see. :)

After the jump or below for some.. you'll find my Title Page thru Week 3. I chose to do one week on each page rather than a week on two pages like I did last year. It was too time consuming and takes too much space. I'm not so interested in writing this year but more interested in my pictures. I haven't figured out how to date my pictures yet. I wrote on them or stamped it last year but not sure I like either.

My plan is to do one page per week and share that here. Cross your fingers :)

Weekend Snapshots | 3

I'm on a mission to find a nomtastic Vietnamese joint by Casa de Reed. It's getting a bit ridiculous but I'm enjoying the differences. In the last 7 days I've eaten Vietnamese food 5 times and I am damn proud of it.

Let me tell you how this mission began..

We found a fantastical Viet joint near Casa de Reed within two weeks of moving in. It was called Pho Miss Saigon. It was right down the street. No, really down the street. 5 minute drive for pick up, man. The eggrolls were to die for. Everything was always warm and cooked all the way. The employees were polite and smiley. My favorite type of people!

About a month after we learned of this beautiful place, it shut down. Out of freaking no where. I'm sure you can imagine our crazy sadness. It was like a piece of our stomach was taken from us and there was nothing we could do to put it all back together.

My mission since then has been to find a replacement. It's been hard but totally worth the sacrifice :)

Above is what E ordered.. vermicelli something or another. He's satisfied no matter what but my eggrolls have to be perfect. With no mushrooms dammit!!

Side note: The link for Pho Miss Saigon is for Yelp.com and my review is the latest (it will make you giggle). Also, I mention the food being warm and cooked all the way because the place I tried on Saturday gave me uncooked pork and that was not cool.

Movie Review: Kingsman The Secret Service

I was given free tickets courtesy of Gofobo to watch Kingsman: The Secret Service. I will not be compensated for my review nor did they ask that I make one.

E & I watched Kingsman: The Secret Service last night. It was a silly & entertaining movie with the main character being a cutie. Not only is he a cutie but he's a fellow potty mouth-er lol Is that a word? Haha!

Kingsman: The Secret Service is an action-spy movie with comedy relief on every corner. The movie is based on the comic book The Secret Service which was created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. These two guys are very creative and were a part of writing or drawing for these famous projects.. Kick-Ass, Batman, Doctor Who, & Wanted. The director of this film is Matthew Vaughn which produced one of my all time favs & possibly yours too, Snatch! I love dags! He also produced the last two X-Men movies, First Class & Days of our Future Past. Dude is just as talented as the writers. He had Jane Goldman as his co-writer and she helped him on his other projects too.

Kingsman stars Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong, Michael Caine, and the cutie Taron Egerton. I'm not a big fan of accents, especially English accents but I love it when they curse. My issue is I can't understand half the shit they say.. I'm sure I'm not alone on this lol

Creativity in your Pocket

iPhone 5/5S Cases

Aren't these freaking awesome? I love the creativity these artists used on their cases. Check out Society 6 for more creative work by all sorts of artists.

iPhone cases have come a long way since the first iPhone. Seriously, check out this Google search. The first iPhone was special back then but looking back at it now, yikes! Thank you Apple for coming through and making the necessary upgrades. I currently have a 5 and I'm pretty damn happy with it. I don't plan on updating to the larger iPhone 6 any time soon. As a matter of fact, I'm really not interested in it. I love the size of the 5 and think it's perfect for my itty bitty hands and avg sized head. The 6 looks too big and I'm sure I'd get used to it but I won't make the change unless I really have to.

My case now is a Cygnett Tats Cru Street Art that I bought at Fry's on sale a while back. It was supposed to hold Shanks down until I received my eyn. The eyn case lasted over a year on Shanks and boy do I miss it. The wallet and mirror on my iPhone was genius and didn't require me to carry a purse or wallet. Since it broke, I went back to the Cygnett case and I've started crying my wallet. Sucks but I've gotten used to it so it's not that big a deal now. Thinking of upgrading to one of these cases above especially the Batman one, haha!

What kind of phone do you have and where did you get your case?

Weekend Snapshots | 2

Faturas from Asturias Bakery

I spent all of Saturday at my Mom's casa cleaning out her garage. She started remodeling as soon as she moved in so the garage was dumping grounds for construction material and random boxes of things she didn't know where to put yet. Hanging out with mom means we grub on some nomtastic food.

I also spent some time with my Little Man Finn. I took him in to get neutered Friday morning and picked him up Friday evening. I don't think he's bothered by the missing "boys" as much as he's bothered by the cone of shame. When we first put it on him he froze. He wouldn't sit or lay down or move. It was cute yet sort of sad to see. He's coming around though and adapting to the dimensions of his cone. He can run in and out of rooms without running into the door frame now.. which was super funny to us.

Sunday was a complete bum-day. We ran two errands that took less than an hour to complete and then put our jammies back on. I've always been a homebody but now that we have this fantastical casa, I don't want to leave especially when the refrigerator is full ;)

Friday Love 01.09.15 | Paper Love - Kate Spade

Kate Spade is the devil. Just like Target. They catch you in their net with their fantastical goodies and you just can't say no. Or look away. So I bought another Kate Spade planner but this one is slimmer and fits waaaay better in my purse than the big one I bought a while back, that I love so much. I'm not giving excuses as to why I bought another one.. just facts, people! Haha! I bought the very last one (see, it was meant to be) at Paper Source yesterday. Paper Source is freaking heaven for paper lovers. If you've never been, you must check one out asap!

What planner are you using for the new year?! SugarPaper has some pretty sweet ones for under $10. You can find those at Target or online. But if you want a super awesome one, hit up Paper Source!

Hustle - 2015 Word of the Year

It's that time of the year when bloggers all over the world pick one word to guide their new year. I think I've joined in twice but I'm not sure I picked the proper word because it didn't stick with me as it should have. This isn't a resolution thing because eff resolutions, haha! It's more of something you can focus on throughout the year that will help you improve in some fashion.

I thought a lot about 2015's word because the last three months of 2014 were rough for me. I feel like I may have dropped the ball on certain things that mean a lot to me. I thought about how one word could guide me to stay on task. Guide me in all matters of my life. How one word could make a huge difference in my life if I stayed focused, yanno?

So 2015's word for me is HUSTLE

100% truth ⇧

Hustle at work. Hustle with my health. Hustle in my marriage. Hustle with my family. Hustle on my priorities. Hustle with my kids. And most of all, Hustle making that money ;)

Basically.. get up & get shit done. I think I can handle that. Seems pretty straight forward, right? :)

Some folks pick various words but one is enough for me right now.

Have you picked your word for 2015?

Weekend Snapshots | First of 2015

Let's start the year with my first Weekend Snapshot post. Some of these are not from this past weekend but a mix of the last week or so. It has been a crazy few weeks and I cannot express how happy & relieved I am to see that everything has calmed down. The holidays are stressful as fuck for most folks and it's no different in my household. Thankfully, everything has been resolved & I can now focus on other things in my life. Things like paper crafting, which I've put on the super back burner and need to get back into.

For Christmas and New Year, my family and I always drink Clerico Fizz Real which is a type of sangria, I think. Haha! It's freaking delicious and the holidays wouldn't be complete without it. See photo above.
