Yesterday was Mama's day and the celebration was pretty short. Both my mom & sister worked so we didn't get to meet until 8ish last night. My sister & I surprised mom at her job with gifts and chocolate goodies. E made Chocolate Avocado Mousse for his mom and had lots and lots of leftovers. It never crossed my mind to mix avocados with chocolate and yet it was surprisingly tasty. It kind of tasted like chocolate pudding, except it wasn't as rich. He got the idea from a coworker & made one for her to try. If you haven't already had some, I definitely recommend ya making it.
Meeting mom late was kind of a bummer but it did give me enough time to make sure the gifts were ready to go. My sister & I normally go half on stuff cause like I said in my previous post, it's hard to get mom something good. She's been mentioning this perfume for what seems like foreverrrrr. I'm not good with remembering the names so my sister made sure to make a note of it. Perfume was freaking $120.. I don't think I've ever paid that much for perfume. Once I smelled it I completely understood - It's called Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and it's full of good stuffs!!
The rest of our gifts were DIY's. We made a pillow case similar to the one from my last post only we didn't include the flowery part. I printed out a stencil of what I wanted to put on the pillow (our birth years) with my Silhouette Portrait and drew on it with a Sharpie fabric marker. I'm planning an easy peezy DIY post on this later!
We bought her a redish frame to match her bed spread and I printed out a photo with my Canon SELPHY CP900. The SELPHY prints 4x6 photos so I cut some faded yellow scrap paper for the photo background and that was it.
My sister found a very sweet spanish greeting card. I'm sure mom would have teared up but my sister & I kept making jokes about how she puts up with our shit a lot so the tears never came LOL! I forgot my camera at home so iPhone pics is all we had. -shrugs- Mom loved her gifts & loved it even more that we stopped by to harass her with goodies!
Hope you had a great weekend!
