Little Man's First Vet Visit

I took Little Man to his first vet visit yesterday and it went very well. We went to the Sugarland Pet Hospital where the rest of the my clan goes. We love going there because the staff is always very kind to us, always remembers our name and they truly care about their patients.

Little Man weighs 3.1lbs (itty bitty) and was given his first shot for de-worming. We'll be back in three weeks for the next round of shots. Doc says he thinks Little Man is a chihuahua/terrier mix and the doc is never wrong so I'm going to agree with him.

We picked up some goodies at Petsmart after the visit so he can do something when his nibbling urges start. My hands and arms are full of little scratches LOL! Bought him a puppy KONG which I didn't know existed, it's so tiny compared to RemiDog's huge KONG. Also bought him some wet food, doc said it would be best for his belly.

The doc gave us his approval to allow Little Man to romp around with the rest of the clan, which was super exciting for me and E. We think its important for furkids to be social and not be afraid or feel threatened by other furkids. Little Man has been living in the garage in his crate since we didn't know anything about him. Better safe than sorry yanno. Chula (above) was hesitant at first but she follows him around sniffing him. I think she's trying to figure out what he is since he is smaller than her LOL!

RemiDog on the other hand was not only curious but he was ready to play immediately. He doesn't understand that Little Man is too small and can't really romp around with him yet. They are both very excited about each other and I'm assuming they can't wait to play together. They've known about each other for a couple of days but haven't really been close enough to check each other out so this was very interesting to see. The only one that gave him shit was Leana Little (JRT) but I think it was because he was trying to get on her bed and she was not having it. He tried playing with Jay (Boxer) for a bit but she's old and doesn't like to be messed with so she growled at him a bit.. enough to make him back off. Understandable.

The rest of the day consisted of lots of sleeping and cuddles by his foster mama. He's such a ham and the puppy breath kisses are ah-mazing! I'm excited to see what the future holds for this kid and the awesome adventures he'll be going on.

Thanks for all the love and well wishes! This kid is a major sweetheart and he deserves all the love he can get. If you'd like to keep up with his updates, please follow The Remi Project on Facebook & don't forget to share his info and donate if you can. $5 goes a long way and I promise you that you won't regret it.
