Weekend Review | Wendy, Willie & Friends

Found this thrifting in Culver, Texas <3

We love our state like a mama bear loves her cubs! We have our flaws like any other state when it comes to our gov't but we're trying to make it better. My husband works for a law firm that heavily supports Senator Wendy Davis and her campaign to be the next Texas governor. Because of this, I was invited to attend a fundraiser campaign for her featuring the man himself, Willie Nelson. I'm not a big country fan but I am very familiar with a lot of his music and the type of stuff he advocates for.

Review: Beasts of the Southern Wild

Made this on recitethis.com

E & I are huge TV/Movie watchers. We use Netflix, Redbox and our premium channels but hardly go to the actual movie theater. On Saturday while flipping channels we stopped at a movie called Beasts of the Southern Wild. None of the actors were familiar nor did we remember seeing a trailer for it. When everyone else has seen/heard about a movie and we get to it late, it just means the hype dies down & we get to really enjoy the movie for what it is. This movie came out in 2012 so this review is a bit late :)

Revlon's Chic is Sophistication at it's Finest

I'm not much of a girly girl but sometimes I paint my nails. I don't have the patience for it most of the time so its pretty rare. I'm a lover of all shades of blue so this color should be of no surprise to you. I first read about this color when Tamira (Lipstick with Some Sunshine), blogged about it. I knew I had to have it and found it by surprise at HEB when I was grocery shopping.

Weekend Review | St. Arnold's Brewery

Largest slice of pizza ever!
I visited the Saint Arnold's Brewery this weekend. I haven't been to the newish location so I was very excited to check it out. My friend had plans to be there with some other folks and generously invited me along! She bought a delicious chocolate cake and a shitload of Little Caesar's pizza. Not sure if she did it intentionally or not, but she picked two of my favorite foods. Chocolate + Pizza = Happy Ari!

You have the choice of doing three different tours or just hanging out. For $8, you get a small glass & 4 tokens for beer. Or you can exchange your small glass (& some cash) for one of the taller glasses that are seasonal. Since I love beer glasses, I exchanged mine for a big one (you'll see it below). I bought this shirt in black cause why not. We played Apples to Apples, which I recommend. We also played Mexican Train Dominoes, a game I've never heard of but it was very entertaining! Favorite beer of the day - Elissa IPA!

We decided not to do the tour and keep hanging out. After some games, they sang happy birthday to me & we grubbed! I didn't have a birthday cake this year so Julie totally hooked me up! Thanks for the adventure Jules! <3

What's in my bag

I've never blogged about what's in my bag before. I know I posted a picture a loooooonnnngggg time ago on a flickr group called What's in your bag (but not camera bags). Not sure why looking at what strangers have in their bags is so interesting but it is. LOL

So on that note.. here's my bag and the minimal goodies I carry in it. I've never been much of a girly girl, no dresses/heels/make up but I do like purses. I  haven't carried a wallet in a little over a year because I have the eyn case that holds Shanks (iPhone 5), DL, bank & insurance card. I'm a tomboy at heart so I don't always carry my bag.

2nd Annual Houston BBQ Festival 2014

Yesterday was the 2nd annual Houston BBQ festival held at Reliant Park. This was probably the most fulfilling festival I've ever been to!! BBQ included brisket, barbacoa, pork, chicken, ribs & sausage links. Some of the booths had sides like beans, cole slaw, broccoli slaw, and potatoes. Oh, I can't forget BBQ sauce.

Houston seems to have this issue with outdoor fests. It either rains hardcore or its hotter than the sun's ass. This fest was no different. It was foggy and chilly. The rain decided it would show up every 10 to 15 minutes and have everyone running under the tent. Thankfully, the folks in charge were prepared and had about 12,000 sqft of tents for everyone to pack into. Not every fest is like this so make sure to be prepared for an outdoor festival in Houston. :)

Warning- Photo heavy post with lots & lots of BBQ!

Little Man's First Vet Visit

I took Little Man to his first vet visit yesterday and it went very well. We went to the Sugarland Pet Hospital where the rest of the my clan goes. We love going there because the staff is always very kind to us, always remembers our name and they truly care about their patients.
