#MCHG, you make me smile.

Magna Carta Holy Grail

[Edit] Spotify added the album but only the edited format. Playlist above might not work [/Edit]

If you asked me in 2003 who my favorite rapper was I would have said Jay-Z without hesitating. If you asked me a week ago who my favorite rapper was I would have told you I didn't have one. Sure there are rappers out there that I like- Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Bun-B, Andre 3000, T.I. to name a few.. but Jay-Z hasn't been in my top five let alone number one since 2003. The Black Album was good, The Blueprint was great and MCHG sounds amazing... as long as you don't analyze it. The lyrics are a bit lazy but the production and the featured artists on it are crazy! Magna Carta Holy Grail brought me back. Back to bouncing my head and learning the hooks as if I had written the songs myself. Even if the lyrics don't make sense sometimes..

Tom Ford, Part II (On the Run) ft Beyonce, Holy Grail ft Justin Timberlake, Beach is Better, Jay-Z Blue & Crown are my favorites right now. Yes the lyrics arent crazy good but the beats- ah, very refreshing! I've been playing this album for the last two days and as of right now Jay-Z has my full attention. I definitely recommend giving this album a listen before you purchase. Luckily, you can listen to it on Spotify (above).

For the record..
I did listen to Kanye's Yeezus album- That shit is just not for me. I feel like he released that album to be relevant. I don't doubt that Kanye is talented, but that album doesn't show it.

..till next time ;]
