Beautiful Roses in January

Smile often. Never regret anything because at one time it was exactly what you wanted. #Smile #NoRegrets #JustBeHappy #VisionBoard

This is on my Vision Board. I think it's important that we not only accept our lives as they are and move on but to also remember that the choices we've made have made us who/what we are today. Never forget that. Never forget that you are who you are because of those experiences.

Rosey Rose
   Beautiful roses..

This is what I came home to a couple days ago. Roses growing in Houston during the Winter. That makes me giggle. It's kinda beautiful in a crazy way..

Hope your Monday was as good as mine filled with mucho laughs and awesome people!

Happy Monday!

..till next time ;]

Something to think about

It's a beautiful day in Houston. No clouds, no rain.

I'm off to Church for a second Sunday in a row. Not sure where this is taking me, but I'm at peace with it. That's all that matters right?!

I leave you with these two quotes that have helped me breathe smoothly the last couple of weeks!

Happy Sunday!

Photojojo & Shanky are Friends!

Photojojo Magnet Fisheye Vanilla Frapp from Starbucks saved me today.
Itty bitty Hershey's looking huge

I've been a Photojojo fan for a looooooong time now! I've never been disappointed with their products and service. For Christmas my sister gave me a $50 gift card to shop at Photojojo. I knew I wanted the Mophie iPhone keychain charger but I had to get something else. I'm the kind of person who likes to spend the entire gift card right then and there. None of this I'll keep the rest of the balance for later crap. I knew I had to get some type of iPhone lens since little Shanky is such a big part of my life. Yes, I named my iPhone Shanky. Get over it!!

I saw the magnet fisheye lens and then the clip-on fisheye lens. I figured the clip on would be better cause duh it's a clip-on. So I ordered the keychain charger and the clip-on lens. A couple of days later I had my goodies and the cute little dinosaur that guards my goodies on their way to my casa. I opened my box and went straight to the lens. I took the case off Shanky and popped on the lens. Sadly, it wouldn't focus. I started screaming at Shanky. I was convinced it was her fault and she was going to hear me out. Fortunately for Shanky, it was the lens and not her. Whew!

I sent Photojojo an email right away telling them how sad I was about one of my goodies not working. Khadija at Photojojo emailed me back a day or so later and apologized. Sometimes products don't work properly and it's totally understandable. Khadija told me she'd send me the magnet fisheye lens, no charge (I was charged for S&H by accident) and if I found something useful to do with the janky clip-on lens to please send her photos.

That's great service right there ladies and gents. She knew I was sad and had to act quick! A couple days later I had my new magnet fisheye lens! That's why I'll always shop at Photojojo. They're the people's kind of people. Does that make sense?! LOL!

I haven't taken too many photos with it yet. To be honest, I forget it's in my purse most of the time LOL! But when I do take some, you can find them on Instagram or Flickr. Go, go, link up with me!

..till next time ;]

DIY Chalkboard using Martha Stewart Craft Paint

A while back I bought a wine-cork board at the thrift store for super cheap. I thought that I could use magnets on the side that didn't have wine corks on it but then figured out magnets wouldn't work on it. Then I thought maybe it was a dry erase type board. Yup, that didn't work either. I'm not exactly sure what it was used for but I decided to make something of it that could be useful.

Remember textdrivebys?! The online publication curated by a collective of women located all over the world, including yours truly?! Yeah well Marilla from CupcakeRehab wrote an awesome DIY on how to make a hanging chalkboard tray thingy (her words, not mine LOL). It's an extremely easy, fun, & most importantly cheap DIY that anyone can do. Figured I'd turn my vintage looking wine-cork board into half cork board, half chalkboard.

I took my butt to Michael's and bought Martha Stewart Crafts Multi-surface Chalkboard Acrylic Craft Paint. There were multiple colors and even though blue is my all time favorite color, I went with Grey to keep the vintage feeling going. I also bought some foamy brushes because that's what Marilla said to use. I totally had my iPad with me and read her instructions while working on this project. I did forgot to buy painters tape, masking tape, blue tape, or whatever tape you're suppose to use when painting LOL Thankfully my mom had a stash of painters tape in the garage so there was no need to freak out.

My husband likes being part of my DIY projects so I normally call out the instructions and take pictures. I secretly think he just likes being in my pictures LOL I did get to paint a little after the tape was on so he can't say I didn't help haha! He made sure to align the blue tape very close to the bottom so that the paint wouldn't get on the border of the frame. He cut squares where the two tapes touched and then placed a small piece on top to make sure no paint got on the frame. And then he painted the board. It was really quite simple.

We did three coats in three days and ta-da we were finished. I totally spaced out (or was to excitamated) and didn't take a picture of the resulting chalkboard. It really looks no different in color from before (which is great) but now it's a chalkboard. I still haven't decided where to put it but thanks to Marilla and her awesome DIY...I made my own chalkboard and have mucho paint left for future chalkboard projects.

Please excuse the grainy photos. D was dead and I was too excitamated to wait for him to be charged up.

2013 Vision Board - First post of the year

Happy 2013 everyone! I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year!! I'm guessing everyone is back to the rat race :( Unless of course you are your own boss and can do whatcha please. Ahh, that would be a fantastical job! A bit of pressure, but it's definitely better then working somewhere that you don't enjoy. :/

I start a new job on the 7th. I'm excitamated and nervous like crazy. I haven't worked for the last 8 months and i'm ready to move forward already. It's definitely not my dream job, but it's a job that pays and will help me grow.

Thinking all sorts of positive thoughts - Send me some of yours too! :]

On the last post of 2012, I told you I was working on my 2013 Vision Board. I didn't finish it like I hoped I would, but i'm getting closer. It's a work in progress yanno. I think that as the days, weeks, months go by - my vision will be clearer as to what I want and where I want to be this time next year. I don't see anything wrong with adding or removing things during the year.

I had a folder full of cut outs that I wanted to add but can't seem to find it. Time to do some cleaning I guess. I noticed a couple of my Facebook friends doing some cleaning in their homes on the last couple days of 2012. I think it's a great idea. Not only to clean out some things that I know I don't need/use, but I can also donate them to the Goodwill or some of my favorite thrift stores. Saying goes - What's my trash, can be your treasure. Or something similar to that haha! You get what I mean right?!
