Happy New Year!

HappyNewYear

This year has been ah-mazing for me. It's definitely a year that I will never forget. Way too many changes for me. Let's see if I can remember them..
These are just a couple I can think of right now. Not in any particular order and I'm sure there's plenty of other things that happened this year. One things for sure, even though this year was good..I'm definitely ready  for it to be over. No one's life is perfect and I'm no different. This year had a lot of ups and plenty of downs and it's time for me to move forward with my life in regards to what's right for me. I've learned a lot about myself this year. Mostly how strong and determined I can be when I put my mind to it.

I'm currently working on my Vision Board. I picked up a white board a while back from Hobby Lobby and i'm cutting things out to glue on to it. Hope I finish before the new year so that my visions can be clear. :]

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!
A toast to 2013 and how awesome we're all going to make it!

See you next year! <3

Time to Update the Calendar

Happy last Friday of 2012! It's getting close to that time of the year again. Replacing your 2012 calendar with a 2013. I'm not sure how many people use a paper calendar nowadays with all these gadgets we have. I've always had one in my kitchen and one in whatever office I'm working in (mine or work). It just seems easier to me sometimes to look directly at the calendar rather than having to swipe my finger to find the month. Easier and simpler is my deal LOL!

On my search for 2013 Calendars I ran into these. I normally get mine from the .99cent store or my mom gives me one. Those normally have muscle cars, Avon products, or a bakery's name on it Haha! Anywho, look what I found.

Christmas 2012 with my family

Christmas Tree with gifts

In my family we celebrate Nochebuena meaning we hang out on the 24th of December. We grub like crazy until a little before midnight, we toast with cider, and then open our gifts. On the 25th of December we all go back to the same house and we grub the leftovers and enjoy each other's company.

Think Outside the Blog - Christmas Edition Blog Hop

Welcome back for another edition of Think Outside the Blog Thursday. And it's kinda like the Christmas Edition..only it's not Christmas yet..but almost there. Ahh you know what I mean Haha! So here we are, Week 8! Again, I've met some really cool people through this Blog Hop. Followed some awesome blogs and even got myself new followers! ;] This Blog Hop is for the newbies that want to put their name out there. For the old school bloggers who want to be looked at again. And for the blogger who is need of new reading material. Don't hesitate to join us every Thursday for a new Blog Hop with new people who are misfits but also have something to say.

Since it's almost Christmas and you're probably rushing to finish your shopping and wrapping - I figured I'd share some links to a couple of sites that can help ya out a bit. I also think it's fun to receive Christmas gifts after the fact. Makes me feel like that gift is extra special :]

  • Fred Flare always has sweet gifts for folks. I actually bought my record player through there a while back and LOVE it. They're doing Next day delivery until 1pm today.
  • Pocketo has a sale section with some nifty gifts also. Planners, shirts, pens, wallets, and even wall decals you should check out not just through the holiday but throughout the year.
  • I'm a huge fan of Pinterest. I was given an invite code waaaay back when it wasn't popular and I used the crappola out of it. But the last couple of months I think I kinda fell off :/ I'm trying to get back on the horse though and it all started with looking for Christmas gift tags that I could print and share and now I'm hooked again.
  • Visit the 30 days of Pinspiration. Mouse over each day and hear the sounds :]
  • Plasticland is one of my favorite online stores. I haven't bought anything from them yet, but the entire feel of their site is fantastical and they have some awesome deals.
  • Oh and no list is complete without food so I also searched Christmas Food on Pinterest cause well you know I love to eat..not so much cook or bake. One day though..
Alrighty that's enough links for now. Check out the awesome Blog Hop Hosts and their social networks. I guarantee that you will find us amusing yet very helpful in your daily life. Don't forget to add the link of your most recent post (the last 7 days) to the bottom & to grab a button for your blog. Spread the word people!!

Thrift Finds

Went thrifting with Mom the other day. We found two new places..or better yet, mom found two new places. I checked-in to both and mentioned the places to a couple of people. Then I thought 'Wait a minute, sharing is caring but these places are too awesome to share.' So i'm keeping my mouth shut LOL! Reminds me of Xenia and her secret thrift shops. Gotta do whatchu gotta do right?! Haha!

Guest Blogger: Morgan from Color in Motion 5k

Hey guys! This is Morgan from Color in Motion 5k. I am so excited to be blogging and to offer Ari’s readers on 3twentysix an awesome deal for the Color in Motion 5k fun run on February 2 in Houston. Color in Motion 5k is the funnest color 5k run you'll ever participate in! This race also benefits the local Houston charity, Girls on the Run.

**Use the discount code- 3TWENTYSIX to register and get 10% off race registration.**

So what is Color in Motion 5k? Color in Motion 5k is the most fun 5k race you will ever participate in. This is is not a timed race so run, walk, jog, whatever your prefer. I don’t know about you but I’m always looking for ways to have more fun. If you can combine that with exercise, friends and a great cause, I’m all in. If you've never been part of a color 5k run here’s how it works.

  • Come in white clothes and start moving.
  • At every kilometer of the race you will find a color pit where our wonderful volunteers throw powder color on the color chasers you go by turning your white clothes into a palette of color.
  • What also makes Color in Motion different than your average 5k race is the after party. Afterwards there is a big party with music, dancing, vendors and a color throw.

Doesn't that look fun? Having participated in one, I can promise you this is an event you DEFINITELY don’t want to miss out on.

So what do you have to do to join in on this fun? Go to colorinmotion5k.com/event/Houston and sign up using 3TWENTYSIX to get 10% off, bring your friends and get ready to have a great time and support a great cause while doing it. We are excited to see you on February 2 covered in color!

Photos I took for Photoswap 2012

Photoswap 2012, a set on Flickr.

Here are some of the photos from Photoswap 2012. I took pictures with a red-scale film and my Canon EOS Rebel G (aka Granny). I had to keep reminding myself that I had a redscale roll rather than regular film. Which btw, while searching for a link to add to this post I found out the 35mm is no longer sold online. I can't remember if I bought mine through the Lomography store or if I bought it at Urbanoutfitters. I think I paid $9.99 for a 3pk, but I could be wrong. Two years ago I visited the Lomo story in LA and srsly hoarded a crapload of film. I had a gift card and found some awesome film on sale. Who says no to film?! Certainly not me. Ha!

So yeah, these are the pictures that came from the roll I sent Berenice in Chicago. They came out a lot better than I expected. I really like the way the leaks and the distortion of some of the images. Definitely proud of this year's photoswap since I've had crappy luck the last couple of years.

To see the rest of the photos, visit Photoswap 2012, a set on Flickr.

..till next time ;]

P.s. Today is 12/12/12 - It's the century's last sequential date. Pretty awesome. Fun facts here and here.

Link Line-Up 3.0

Happy Friday! Today's Link Line-Up is brought to you by my youngest pup, Remi, short for Reminder. Here's a little back story on my kid.  Remi was found December 23rd of 2011 across the street from our house.  He was extremely skinny, bloody, and practically hairless. Since E and I are familiar with dogs - more than we admit to - We knew the kid had a bad case of Mange and was in desperate need of some love and attention. We set up a crate near our front door with blankets and a bowl of water in hopes that we could capture him and help him. We went out that night and upon our return we were surprised to see our kid inside the crate asleep. We locked the crate and moved the crate into our garage out of the cold rainy night. The next day we took him to the vet, thinking we would most likely be putting him down. Thankfully the news was good, very good.  Remi was diagnosed with Demodectic Mange. A type of Mange that isn't contagious and is curable with meds.  Remi slowly started gaining weight and his hair started growing. He is now the most annoying kid we have that is so spoiled you never would have thought he was a street dog. :] Our vet said Remi looked to be about a year old. So we came to the conclusion that he probably had a home at one point but when his Mange started flaring, the owners kicked him out. What's even sadder is that he's incredibly smart and a total cuddle bug so we can't understand why he wasn't given a chance. Good news is he has had a safe and loving home for almost a year now and his bond with my husband is like no other. After all, he is the only male dog we own Lol! We named him Reminder to remind us of all the animals our there that need our help and to remind us of how crappy some people can be. For more information on our pup or if you'd like to show some love, visit his blog theremiproject.com (that hasn't been updated in a while :/ ) or visit him on facebook.

Weekend Adventures

It's Monday and no one likes it.  What keeps me going is remembering all the fun I had the previous weekend and how much MORE fun I'm going to have when the weekend arrives again. :]

This past weekend was definitely a good one.  Hung out with friends, did some bicycling, checked out a craft show, took some photos, drank some tasty beers, watched the Texans kick some Tennessee butt, and ate a badass breakfast sammich Lol! It's always about food with me isn't it?! That should be of no surprise Lol!

Started off my Saturday with a visit to DesignCraft's 3rd annual Outdoor Market with my friend John.
